It would be only repeating what has already been communicated to Your Lordship's predecessor, if I were to go over Bishop Raimondi's other objections to the Ordinance. These were considered by Lord Carnarvon at the time the subject was receiving his attention; although I am not aware that the Bishop then made special allusion, as he now does, to the laws of India and the Straits Settlements.
